Wallpapering instructions for photo wallpapers
The right tool for wallpapering is crucial and indispensable for neatly applying a "photo" to the wall. But what is the right tool?
The following should be available:
- Wallpapering brush
- Seam roller
- Foam rubber roller
- Paste brush
- Cutter knife and plastic spatula
By the way, you can find our tools in the shop here
Now we have the tools we need.
But how do we get the photo wallpaper cleanly onto the wall?
Firstly, you should analyse the surface, i.e.
- Holes in the wall (these must be filled)
- old wallpaper residue (must be completely removed)
The smooth surface can then be primed with a deep penetration primer.
To provide further protection, it is recommended to treat the surface with MAKU fleece. This prevents seams from bursting and equalises the tension between the wallpaper and the substrate.
You can find MAKU fleece in our shop here
Now you need the right paste.
To make sure that it is a good paste, we recommend using "branded pastes". You should follow the instructions on the packaging exactly.

Once everything is ready, the wallpaper can finally be used.
The first strip is marked with a spirit level to ensure that all the strips and therefore the entire "photo" are straight. Once the first strip is on the wall, roll it smooth with a foam rubber roller to prevent bubbles and creases from forming.
You should also make sure that the strips are not offset when gluing.
Finally, simply trim the wall/ceiling connection and the wall/floor connection cleanly with the plastic spatula.
The dream of a photo wallpaper on the wall is now a reality.
